Built mainly for people just out of undergrad in something non-business — engineering, literature, economics — who want a fast, structured route into corporate life without an MBA later. Strategy, marketing, finance, operations, leadership: a bit of everything, so recruiters trust you to be dropped into a rotational program and figure things out.

For people who already know finance is the goal — investment banking, asset management, private equity, corporate finance — and want the technical depth to prove it. Heavier quant: valuation, modeling, derivatives, corporate finance theory, often with CFA curriculum woven in. Less "well-rounded," more "can build a DCF model by week three."

The twist worth knowing: unlike MIM and MIF, "GMIM" isn't a broad field with dozens of independently competing schools. It's really two flagship joint degrees — plus one much bigger, very famous alliance that works the same way.

- Do I already know my function? --> Yes: MIF. No: MIM or GMIM.
- Do I want to work in one country, or move around? --> Staying put: MIM. Building a cross-border career: GMIM.
- Am I energized more by markets and models, or by strategy and people? --> Markets: MIF. Strategy: MIM/GMIM.
Don't pick based on which acronym sounds most impressive to relatives. Pull up three real job postings for the role you want in two years, and check which curriculum actually maps onto what those postings ask for. That fifteen-minute exercise beats any ranking table.
