Hi,
I've been preparing for the GMAT since the past 2 months. I've used the following materials :

1) OG 2020
2) Jamboree tutorials (offline classes)
3) MGMAT- SC, CR, Number properties, Fractions and Word problems

After giving 2 full length mocks (non adaptive)
I'm getting a score of around 600 Q38 V34

My target is 680+
Is it realistic to achieve in 30 days and what resources should I use?

Also, when should I ideally take my 1st GMAT PREP?

Actually you should have given your first official practice exam from mba.com by now. Taking an official practice exam under exam conditions will help you determine your current level. Once you have got the scores of your first official practice exam, then you may post your sectional performances on GMATCLUB for further guidance.

All the best!

I am also in the similar boat .
My take is to complete all the official materials and practice adaptive tests in between . .

Hi raizfaia,

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Statistically-speaking, raising a 600 to the point that you can consistently score 680+ will likely require at least another 2 months of consistent, guided study - and you'll have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level - but you might want to consider pushing back your Test Date.

Hi, thank you for replying

1) I put aside at least 4-5 hours of quality study time daily.

2) 1st of July - V34 Q38
3rd of July - V31 Q38
(Both tests were non adaptive)
Also took the gmat club’s verbal CAT
- V31
(Looking to take GmatPrep 1 in 3 days)

3) I’m applying for the fall 2021 intake, looking at schools in Canada for Masters in Finance or MiM such as McGill/ University of Waterloo. (First round of applications starts in September. )

Side note- my gpa is 4.0, Looking at the requirements of these schools, I’m considering 680 to be a decent target score.

Hi raizfaia,

Since 30 days will fly by, you should take a full length, adaptive practice exam right away to get an accurate baseline score. Once you take the practice exam, feel free to report back here with your score breakdown, and I can provide some further advice.

Hi raizfaia,

If you've taken just two NON-adaptive practice tests, then it's not clear what your actual ability level is right now. As such, I strongly recommend that you take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test sometime soon (you can access 2 for free at www.mba.com). You should take that CAT in the same 'format' that you are scheduled to take your Official GMAT in (the At-home GMAT and the traditional Test Center version of the Exam are presented in different ways, so you want to make sure that you're practicing for the specific format that you are going to face).

That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. Once you have that Score, you should report back here and we can discuss the results and come up with a study plan.
