Hi dreambig1000,

I'm sorry to hear that your Official GMAT did not turn out better. Business Schools generally do not care if you take the GMAT more than once, so doing so is not a big deal. At this point, it's not clear whether you actually 'need' a tutor or not, so before you commit to what could be an expensive purchase, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) When did you take the Official GMAT and how did you score (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
2) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
3) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
4) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
5) What is your overall goal score?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hello,

I recently took the GMAT exam and did not score well. To help with my preparation, I am looking for a private tutor who can teach me 1:1 for the GMAT exam. I am looking for an online tutor.

I can spare everyday 4 hrs. for study (on weekends it can be 10 hrs.). My target is to take the exam by mid of Oct .

I am looking anywhere from 200-250 score improvement.

If you can all help to guide some good tutor services and any other advice is welcome.

Hi there! I am happy to help you out.

Hi dreambig1000,

First of all, it’s sad to hear that your GMAT exam score was not up to the mark. But it’s good that you have made up your mind for availing online private tutoring course for improved results in future.

Private tutoring is the best option if you feel you need a personal mentor to guide you through your preparation. Your performance will be constantly monitored by the mentor and based on the feedback you can prepare accordingly. This mostly works when students face difficulty in understanding concepts and require a one-on-one interaction with tutors. Moreover, if you feel you get distracted now and then, and need a mentor to keep you right on track till the end, I suggest you to go with private tutoring.

If you are open to suggestions, I would recommend you to check the private tutoring course offered by GMATWhiz. We offer you a chance to work with highly experienced teachers at an affordable price. Our tutors have a minimum of 10 years teaching experience and we offer a hybrid learning experience where we combine the best of online learning (technology) with private tutoring. We use an AI based learning platform to do 3 things:
1. Get you a personalized trackable study plan that adapts in real time
2. Track your performance on the portal against 20+ data points for each question.
3. Help you learn the basic concepts through video lessons, thereby saving the number of private tutoring hours you need. (These video lessons are created by the same experts who teach you)

The tutor uses these data points before each session to identify the gaps in your learning and create relevant content for discussion. Hence each session is 5 times more effective than those offered by other private tutors as you get pin-point advice on exact reasons behind your mistakes. As a result, you get the maximum output with minimum number of sessions.

You can check out the free demo on GMATWhiz and decide for yourself if it is the one you are looking for.

However, for more personalised suggestions with respect to a structured preparation strategy, you would have to provide me with some more details for better analysis:
  • Your GMAT Score (Along with Sectional Breakup score)
  • The structure and study plan you followed
  • Resources you used for prep
  • Your Target Score

Feel free to contact if you have any further queries.

You can always write back to me here or the better way would be to connect over a call and have a discussion. You can schedule a free consultation call using the below link.

Thank you everyone, I already finalized one GMAT Tutor Service today.

Which tutor did you go with? and Are you satisfied with the tutor?

I'm also in the market for the Tutor. Debating between GMATWhiz, ScoreLeap & GMATInsight.

For Quant, I'm going with Math Revolution. Verbal is a pain point I want to address. Let me know who you have chosen
