Hi Experts,
I need some advice to get my GMAT focus score up from 555 to 615 in a month (est. 144 hrs study time). Help! I've gone backwards.... I have been studying consistently for ~3 months now, committing approx. 2 hrs per week day and 6 hrs per weekend day. My main resources have been
Magoosh and the OG practice questions. Initally the study was showing improvement however my past 2 attempts have been further from my target. I've completed most of the
Magoosh practice questions and all of the OG quant practice questions. Whilst I feel I have a grasp of most of the concepts the time pressure really gets to me.
OG practice test results:
Test 1 (4/2/24) 475 (V:82 Q:65 DI:73)
Test 2 (9/3/24) 605 (V:80 Q:81 DI:79)
Test 3 (6/4/24) 545 (V:81 Q:74 DI:58)
Test 4 (14/4/24) 555 (V:80 Q:77 DI:75)
Key areas to improve for quant: combinations, number properties, absolute values/modulus, work/rate, distance/rate, stats and sets
Key areas to improve for DI: data sufficiency (stats and sets, % and interest, word problems), graphs and tables
Key areas to improve for verbal: identify inferred idea, primary purpose, plan/construct
Analysing my results I need improvement in all areas but more so quant and DI. I know that I have some serious work to do with time management. In the verbal section of the past 2 tests I have had to randomly pick the last ~5 questions, in quant the last ~4 and in DI the last ~5. When I have tried sticking to time markers I find I make silly mistakes and don't think through the problems clearly (especially in DI where there's lots of information to digest).
Now that I've finished the
Magoosh plan I'm stuck on how to structure the next portion of my prep and given the tight timeline want to focus my effforts on the areas that will make a big difference. Would very much appreciate any guidance you could offer on how to quickly level up my score and beat the time crunch pressure that has me flailing.
Thank you!
