Hi there! I am undergoing a process of choosing between different gmat prep courses, in particular, M
anhattan prep vs. Magoosh. (I have decided to use TTP for advanced quant practices only after I completed the basics, because I'm a more visual learner and found myself suffering from reading text lessons)
I have gathered a lot of information online regarding the pros and cons of each courses, but I would like some personalized recommendation for someone in my situation:
- I have already purchased an entire OG bundle, so the free OG resources provided by the MPrep is redundant
- I tested out both courses using their free trial, and my first impression is that the video lessons from MPrep is really lengthy, so I had a hard time to focus for the entire session, but they are high in quality for sure.
Magoosh lessons are short and sweet, which I also preferred. However I am just worried that the content coverage is not comprehensive enough compared to MPrep videos.
- My first practice exam without doing any prep was done on Princeton review and got a 615 total (Q85/V84/D74). I struggle with DI the most and did not answer 8 questions out of the 20 due to time constraints. I feel like for all sections I need to grasp all the basics, but I also need more advanced prep to reach my goal
- My score goal is 735-755 on the focus exam
So, questions for everyone who have gone through any of those courses:
1. The only factors that I am considering to make the decision are
(1.) the prep books (All the verbal, All the quant, etc.) - are they helpful at all? Do the books cover more basic contents or more advanced ones?
(2.) The video lessons - Do the lessons from
Magoosh and MPrep cover the same / very similar content? If one is better than the other, then in what ways?
2. What other courses or practice strategies can help me learn more advanced knowledge, if the courses only cover the basics?
Any insights are appreciated. Thank you so much for your help!
