Undergrad:
Top 15 school, Biological Sciences, 2.00 GPA (first generation college grad, did not focus in school and skipped the majority of my classes, also worked throughout undergrad).
Postgrad:
Took 10 upper level business classes at same school, averaged 3.80 GPA (hoping to build an alternate transcript and show that I've turned my life around and have the capacity to succeed in business school)
GMAT: 740
Work experience:
Big4 - will have 1 year audit + 3 years in transaction advisory (ie. valuations) when I matriculate, with yearly promotions and increasing supervisory responsibilities.
Target post-MBA role:
PE / HF and asset management roles.
The MBA will help provide me with network and proper business education (as opposed to only an undergrad in bio-sciences)
Others:
CPA + CFA (passed all levels)
Asian Male
Decent EC and recommendations.
I've worked on trying to improve the other parts of my application to mitigate my low GPA, so I am wondering if there's anything else I can do so I can have a shot at my target schools.
Should I apply to part-time MBA instead (less competitive than full-time)? Right now I want the education more than the potential recruiting, and I wouldn't mind doing part-time, but targeting top 15 schools only.
