Hello,
Why do schools want to know about which other schools is a candidate applying to?
Is the choice of schools where you sent your GMAT score available to the schools we you send the score to them.
Can you choose to only add new schools (schools that you have not send your GMAT scores yet to) in this section of the application?
Thanks,
Well, That is a very good question. They want to know because they want to understand who THEY are competing against. I think that you don't necessarily have to be totally forthcoming here.
I'll give an example. Say you are applying to both Columbia and NYU with a very good profile. NYU might say to themselves "well, if he gets into both, he's for sure gonna go to Columbia... so let's think twice about making an offer here." (Or they might say, on the other hand "Hey, he has a decent chance at Columbia, but we love him and he really fits with us, so let's give him a free ride...")

So the idea is that it can work both ways, but you do want to consider how this info might be used,
Make sense?
I hope so,
Best,
