Hello,
I would request you to please evaluate my profile and help me in answering a few questions regarding the same. My profile details are as given below and I have my questions at the absolute end.
Demographic: 27 years old, Indian Male
GMAT: Target 700-750 by August. [Currently Preparing]
Academics:
• 10th Grade: 10.0 CGPA (out of 10.0)
• 12th Grade: 94.5% ( out of 100 )
• Undergrad: Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering from NIT Durgapur (CGPA: 8.80, out of 10.0)
Work Experience: 4 years as of July’21.
I worked at Oracle for 2 years and currently working for Goldman Sachs.
My experience has majorly been in the domain of Computer Science and Product related development. In Goldman Sachs, however, I was exposed to Financial and Banking domains as well and have got a good domain knowledge about the same.
My responsibilities at both organizations included individual development of various products and certain leadership skills such as leading a team of a few junior analysts/developers.
Extra-curricular:
I was a Member of the programming societies of my college mainly focusing on Computer Science knowledge and helping students garner the skills required for an industry job.
I have also participated in various NGO activities from Goldman Sachs.
Target Colleges:
I am looking to target the following B-Schools for the class of 2022:
• Top 10 Global Universities.
• ISB
Please let me know if this is a realistic target and if this can be achieved with the score that I have in mind as a target. Also, I do have good recommenders from top B-schools, working in top Investment Banks, and know me well.
Do let me know if I have to furnish more details.

You have a great overall profile and that should make you competitive to gain admission to a terrific MBA program. You bring solid brand names to your resume that will sell well.
I am not sure if the top 10 universities are going to be attainable. You may have a shot at some of the lower ones in that range, but at best those will be reaches. Do you have any "wow" factors or experiences that you can tout? Don't get me wrong, everything is good but I really need to see the great to give you a chance given your competitive demographic.
It's important you not only score within that target range on the GMAT but also get into the upper part, in other words, 730+. That is basically the must-have for Indian males with engineering/computer science degrees. Is that attainable? That would make your chances for a top 10 school more reasonable.
If you have time, you may want to try to pick up one more extracurricular activity too. I am pleased to see that you are involved both inside and outside of work, but I don't see quite enough for a top 10 program.

o I play a musical instrument, Synthesizer, and have participated in a couple of musical talent shows in school/college.
o I was a part of the Inter-School Cricket team for 2 years. (2008-10)
o Regarding the NGO Activities in Goldman Sachs: I have worked with various Non-Profit Organizations to reach out to the weaker section of the society, for Education and Workforce Development, and Environmental Sustainability.
• “Wow” Factors: Not sure if the following qualify for a wow factor but some things that are coming to my mind are as follows and maybe we can discuss more on this on our consultation call :
o I have a research paper published in a journal along with my PhD Guide and Professor while I was in the pre-final year of college.
o I have done some research work in a very reputed institute (IIT Kharagpur) in the final year of college.
o I participated in a Hackathon ( an ethical hacking contest ) organized by Microsoft in which my team (4 people) stood 23rd all over India (around 5000 teams participated).
o I have been in the top 5% of the students who appeared for the Grade 12th Board Exam from my school.
o I have been in the top 5% of the students in my college department.
As I am currently preparing for GMAT, I will try to attain a score near 750 as stated by you and will apply to my preferred colleges post the same.
I also tried signing up for the free consultation using the link given below but faced an issue while submitting the form after furnishing all the details, as it threw an error. Could you help me regarding the same?
