Hi, I would greatly appreciate if you could evaluate my profile and I would welcome any suggestions you might have regarding GMAT retaking or school choices.
I am from Georgia the country but applying as a resident.
Gender: Female; Age: 24
GMAT: 640 (V32/Q46/AWA5.5)
GPA: 3.8 magna cum laude with honor in economics for my senior thesis
Undergrad: BA in Economics from women's college in MA USA.
Work: total 4 years of experience by Fall 2016. 1.5 years in transportation industry doing accounting and 2.5 in investment management firm as an associate portfolio manager.
Certifications: Series 7 and Series 66
Job description: ∙ Construct portfolios (>$120 million) in accordance with the firm’s investment themes
∙ Develop trading strategies appropriate to clients` risk profiles
∙ Reconcile cash and investment positions
∙ Produce quarterly reports and management letters for clients
∙ Oversight trading operations to ensure compliance with FINRA and SEC
Extra Curricular Activities: In college I was a VP of exchange program team at the international student organization, we recruited, trained and sent students (~220) abroad. I have organized couple of >300 attendees conferences. Now I am a board member of my Alma Mater`s alumnae club in NYC.
Post MBA plans: 1. short term - work at the investment management firm on the higher levels focusing on emerging markets and/or pension fund management. Plan-B: work at the management consulting firm focusing on developing countries` financial industries.
2. Long-term: Open my own fund that will focus on investments in developing countries.
Target Schools: Stanford, HBS, UCLA, Columbia, NYU, Emory and Tepper.

Hi there,
Thanks for posting. Overall you have several strengths to your profile, including strong GPA/academics, and quant/econ/finance skills, plus a less-common nationality, and schools are looking for qualified female applicants.
That said, the GMAT is quite low and would be the main weakness at this point.... Tepper and Emory may be feasible (even they tend to average closer to 680/690); the others may be quite tough at this level.
Would you consider giving the GMAT one more shot with some tutoring perhaps, just so it doesn't become the factor that holds you back? Schools take the highest score, and worse case if you did not improve, you can cancel it and schools will not see it.
