Hello - thank you so much in advance for your time! I'm truly thankful for any time put into a response to this, and am hopeful with upcoming applications to deferred programs. In terms of the requested information:
· Demographics (nationality, gender):United States - low income ORM.
· Education (undergraduate institution, GPA, major - high school/entrance exams not needed):Tier 2 US private university, ranked ~100th college. Majors: Accounting/Computer Science 3.4 GPA
· Other coursework or post-undergraduate education:Coursework includes Computer Science, both degrees are B.S. degrees. Courses taken in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud and network computing. Nationally recognized scholar by a government board and nominated by university, as well as a few university, foundation, and department scholarships/awards.
· GMAT or GRE or EA score (include section breakdown):655 (Q79, V88, DI80) GMAT FERetake within 3 weeks, scoring around and aiming for 685 (Q82-84, V86-88, DI82-83)
· Work experience (briefly highlight amount of work experience, industries, roles, promotions, special accomplishments, international exposure):In college worked multiple different internships and jobs. I've worked in analytics in defense, finance strategy for an F500, and a few public acc internships
· Extracurricular activities (briefly highlight notable undergraduate and post-undergraduate ones):Was President/Treasurer for a few organizations on campus managing budgets ranging from $20K-50K. Also a started a business aimed around social media automation, successfully self-deploying Gen AI models on cloud-based systems. Grew a proof-of-concept page to ~200K views, and worked with a few local businesses. Also competed for my university at a business analytics competition as a finalist (not sure if this one helps all too much)
· Post-MBA goals:Post-MBA, I aim to transition from my role in management consulting into a broader strategy consulting position. While I’m gaining strong technical and operational experience through digital transformation work, I want the MBA to build the strategic, financial, and cross-functional leadership skills needed to advise organizations at the enterprise level.
Long-term I hope to become a senior operator, eventually leading company-wide strategy and tech-enabled finance functions as a CFO or Chief Transformation Officer. The MBA will give me the formal training and broader strategic platform needed to pivot from functional transformation work into these larger, organization-wide roles.· Target schools:Schools with deferred programs, my absolute dream school is Wharton due to reading a lot about Adam Grant, combined with the passion for people + finance/consulting outcomes. I'm hopeful for M7 and T15 in general though, and will be applying to as many as I can (specifically aiming applications for HBS, Columbia, Anderson (strong west-coast strength from what I've heard), and Johnson (strong brand in NY and huge alumni network/pipeline)).· Any specific questions you would like answered by our team:The main thing is that this entire process seems dauntingly expensive to be honest. Just taking the GMAT and retake has been a lot of money, so the main thing I'm curious about is if my profile is competitive enough to try applying for these deferred M7 programs?I've heard that adcoms look at the full profile, and I'm hoping this is true since I know there is a big mix of good and bad in my profile. When looking at people from IB or MBB backgrounds who have got in and already went to Ivy's with insane GPA's it almost feels impossible to get into a deferred program at these schools. I think my main question is, am I competitive enough with my profile to chance the applications to M7's?
