1 years tuition is nothing to sneeze at, but it sounds like Haas is the answer. Money is a renewable resource: it comes and goes. Time is not renewable. The next two years of your life is only going to happen once. Do you want to go to Stern and constantly play the "what if" game in regards to Haas?

You got into your top choice. Go and don't look back; Many of us on this forum wish we could be so fortunate to have been admitted by our top choice.

agreed. while ur at it. uv got nothing to lose by letting hass know about the money to nyu. that they're ur top choice but ur being swayed by $. is there any way for them to reevaluate u for a scholarship..etc. some schools are receptive - some are not. not sure about hass but why not try.

Personally I think Haas is not that much head and shoulders above Stern - both these schools rely on their parent university's brand. 1st year is a lot of money, which I would advise if you were taking a more traditional career path such as consulting.

Can you clarify what are your career goals and where you wish to move post-graduation?

My career goals are finance related, but not in IB, more on the compliance side. I'd like to move to Europe post-graduation, and even if I change my mind and would look for a job in the US, I'd much prefer the West Coast.

At Haas, you have to apply for all scholarships. I'm still planning to do so for a couple of them, but I'm not sure including "oh and BTW I got $$ at another school" in the application essays would yield good results. :)

Sage advice. Two other things to consider: (1) cost of living will be much lower at Haas and (2) Berkeley, I believe, has a much better brand abroad than NYU. So, no, you're not crazy for wanting to choose Haas in this situation, although I wouldn't blame you if you selected Stern either!

Thanks for the advice! CobraKai, you're spot on about how I feel emotionally. It's just a struggle to force myself to say no to a suitcase of money.
