Odd situation.. I accepted a school's offer and made the 1st and 2nd seat deposits (2K total). I was just invited off the wait list to my "dream school" of which I thought I had no chance. Are 2nd deposits usually binding or what?

I'm sure the other school is running a waitlist as well so they wont have problems filling the seat - Accept the school you want to go to - you'll lose the deposit but thats why the school put those fees up front.
It happens regularly.

Although it hurts losing money, the biggest hurt is not doing what you want. I think that sacrificing money for going to your dream school is worth. You do MBA once a life so enjoy your MBA and life and you can compensate quickly after graduation.
