It really depends on your personality and how you see the world.
Do you want to be a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond. ISB will give you an immediate Elite status of the best Indian school. Goizueta and Smith are nice schools rated #21 and #41.

I don't know the cost difference between them and earning potential after ISB, but with Smith/Emory you will be a pretty average graduate that will have to give way to about 20 other bschools when attempting to get a job in the US while dodging the H1B/OPT question on your applications.

My choice would have been ISB - knowing that I got into the most competitive program and the best school in the country. If you feel that the experience in the US will somehow empower you more in India (is US MBA better than ISB? or will you be considered a "lost soul" if you return to India after US MBA?). However, it is a safer choice, with potentially a very defined payoff but also without potential risk that may be worth taking.

Thanks a lot for the assessment/advice bb. Your assessment is reassuring.
I have decided to pursue ISB for essentially all the reasons you highlighted, plus the advantage of one year program(as i am not aiming for a complete career track change).

Yes, I have missed that point - potential advantage of the Internship. For the international experience, you could take advantage of the ISB's vast network of partner schools: https://www.isb.edu/pgp/international-exchange and since the employment opportunities are so good you don't have to stress about recruiting as you would all of the second year in the US MBA, allowing you to take a few months for the exchange program.

P.S. I am really excited about you getting in. Congratulations! It is very hard and you should be very proud of your accomplishment. I don't think you will be disappointed with ISB. Good luck and don't forget us - perhaps you can come back and share your experience and how your expectations have played out (they are always different).

Hey BB,

These are really good points that you have highlighted. I myself am contemplating some US Offers(with scholarship) vs ISB and your comments above certainly gives me a better perspective of things. Thanks !
