Hi,
I have been offered admits from Rice (50% scholarship) and Maryland (100% scholarship as a Dean's fellow).
I'm currently working as a consultant in the technology sector. I'm looking to move to management consulting focused in Strategy.
Since the consulting job opportunities at Maryland are primarily in the federal side, I'm wondering if as an international student it is a risk for me to pick Maryland.
Which school should I chose? Saying no to a full ride is pretty difficult but I really want to look at post-MBA opportunities to pick between the two schools.

form all ranking, it seems Rice higher than Smith.

When you go to Rice website you can see clearly list of tier 2 consulting firms. But It is not clear if Smith sends students to those firms. I advise you to contatc either career office in Smith or a student.

I think you hit the nail on the head regarding Maryland's consulting opportunities. I think the program sounds great and has its merits, but based on your goals, Rice might be a better fit. My advice is to try speaking to current students looking to move into similar careers to find out about their experiences in the recruiting process. Keep us posted. These schools are on my list as well
