Hi everyone,
I have been admitted to both University of Maryland Smith with roughly 50% scholarship plus GA and Penn State Smeal with a full ride + stipend. I am looking to start a career in strategic or management consulting. I know that Smeal is great in supply chain, but I have no interest there. I also know that Smith places alot of people in gov. consulting, also not much interest there. I would prefer living in the DC area but it is very expensive.
My concern with Smeal is that outside of supply chain, there is not as much opportunity in consulting.
Another consideration is that I am also considering marketing as a backup plan. I am also awaiting decisions from Mendoza and Kelley.
Any help would be very appreciated as I have about two weeks until I have to place a deposit at Smith if I choose them.

Hey I am also looking into sneak. Would you share your numbers in terms of gpa and gnat etc.

I think you would have equal luck at both schools with a shot at consulting. Smith does have more folks going to the DC area and government consulting companies, many of which do not hire international applicants. Not sure if that is a consideration.

Granted, I have not visited the Smeal campus or met with students there, but given what I know, I would attend Smeal due to the scholarship, its name, and reputation. I cannot see how Smith would be a much better choice for you to justify $40K more in tuition. The only bummer about Smeal is that it is 3 hours from anything.
