I would probably chose HEC, but maybe billionaire could provide you with a more detailed answer :)

Congratulations on getting into these 2 schools!

I would definitely chat with some of the current students. There are people who have a bad experience at MIT or Booth. You may know this, HEC is a very strong MiM program with MBA reputation somewhat lagging behind.... but the plans seem to align the best for you with Paris rather than Spain due to your experience and goals, from where I see it.

However, most EU schools tend to be not very transparent with their numbers, stats, and details, so it is often like opening a mystery present - never know what's inside until you peel the layers, and sometimes the first layer is not the most impressive one.

I have been admitted to both IE and HEC Paris and am torn about the decision. Im American, but most of my work experience has been in Africa (Mozambique, Kenya, Nigeria) and I plan to return to the same regions upon completion of my MBA.

I want a strong entrepreneurship focus as I hope to launch my own social enterprise in STEM education for Women. I know IE is strong in entrepreneurship and seems like Madrid would be so much fun, but Im worried about the issue with their rankings this year, and have spoken with a recent alum who had a very bad experience at IE.

HEC seems like the "safer" choice and I actually am very motivated to learn french because I also hope to work in francophone Africa, but I also haven't been able to speak to anyone who went to HEC (other than the interviews, but you cant really be as honest during those). What would be best in my situation?

Hello sidney

Hello Arro44

Somebody called my name ? :)

I already addressed IE rankings issue in detail here :

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ie-vs-essec- ... 67410.html

I also went into details comparing IE and HEC here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/hec-paris-ad ... 70680.html

If you go into my posts you will probably find even more here and there about IE and HEC.

From your standpoint HEC Paris should be clear choice, you want to learn French and you want to work in French parts of (North) Africa, there is no better way to that than being in Paris, they rarely speak English anyway due to historical cultural clash, so you will have plenty of opportunity and time to practice first hand.

Bonne chance dans votre processus décisionnel !
