I would like to go into consulting and ideally, I would like to live in NYC or LA after graduation. I'm really not sure where to decide to go.

I would like to go to a school with a bigger class size just for networking purposes... name brand wise, I feel like Emory and Georgetown are good names after my first post MBA career

Can you share more about your profile please? Domestic vs international, pre MBA industry, etc?

Hi Abhimahna,
Can you elaborate on the differences between domestic students and international students in this scenario?

Hey sayiurway ,

Sure, I am just trying to understand the profile. International students have tough time getting jobs in US right now. So, the profile of the user will help me give him/her a better decision.

I hope that helps. :)

abhimahna: Thank you for your clarification. I think the poster is from the US since he or she got in through Consortium

If you want NYC, Georgetown seems to be the best choice. However, NY consulting out of these schools will be an uphill battle,so I recommend you think about back-up options (back up to consulting and/or New York). I'm not sure about LA. Back-up wise, I'd think mainly by location (Atlanta vs DC metro vs Dallas/Austin) and choose based on which one is your next best location other than NYC/LA.

I don't think consulting in NYC is an "up-hill" battle. Yes, you'll have to network and really be on top of your game but there are plenty of Goizueta people consulting based out of NYC. Go to the school where you'll feel the best fit. They are more or less similar, with the edge given to Emory & McCombs. I still feel Georgetown is not as good but that's just me. Emory does place 40% of their class in consulting which you can't ignore.
