Congratulations on your admits!

Canada offers one of the worst ROI for an MBA. I’ve done analysis a few times and there’s no way around it. The salaries are not great. Job options are not as they verse a great either. You do have the benefit of going to the best school in the country but still.

Primarily, Canada beats US when it comes to immigration and being friendly towards foreign workers. That’s it.

I would also say that in the US, there’s probably only about 100 or maybe 150 international MBAs hired by MBBs. The chances for MBB’s recruiting are really slim. I would not make your decision for business called based on that. It is just really really tough.

For tech p.m. jobs, I feel your chances would be about equal and likely heavily based on off-campus recruiting.

I would suggest choosing your country first. US versus Canada. It’s a personal choice and many things go into that decision. Once you make that decision, the school choice is fairly easy 😉

PS. Despite my suspicions about Marshall, I would’ve picked the US. You’re getting a substantial subsidy to your education and you would easily be able to pay off your loans with your first year bonus at Amazon or Microsoft. Not so much in Canada…. There’s more to it but I think this is plenty for your decision :-)

This analysis of yours gave me much needed confidence in backing my decision to choose USC. I do realise that chances of MBB are slim but this goes for both in Canada and in the US. Also, even if things go sideways with H1B, one still have a chance to migrate to Canada and enjoy their PR benefits.

Thank You!
