Hi All,
I've been admitted to INSEAD and received interview invite for LBS, plus waiting for few US schools for updates, but would like to understand if it makes sense to pay for the deposit of EUR 11k at INSEAD until end of October if the rest of the decisions are by December.

First of all, congrats on getting the admit! To get accepted into one of the most competitive MBA schools, your profile must be outstanding. Having said that, it is OK to give up the seat and save the non-refundable deposit if INSEAD is not your dream school and you strongly believe you have a good chance of getting into the other schools that are higher on your list. Alternatively, you may be open and honest with INSEAD about your choice for the US as a location for work (and therefore preference for a US MBA or XYZ reason) and you would want to wait until a certain date before paying the INSEAD deposit. Who knows, this might just work as schools understand the multiple variables applicants have to consider with while making this big financial and career altering decision.

hello123321 is LBS your preferred school?
While it was unthinkable a few years ago, these days asking for a delay to pay the deposit is quite real. You are better off if you have a reason besides saying "I don't want to pay the deposit since if I get admitted to LBS, I will be out of here" However, it won't hurt to ask. They won't rescind the offer
But usually the only option is to pay the deposit unfortunately...
