Hi All,
I've been accepted into the Cambridge Judge MBA and I'm awaiting the decision for ISB shortly. I believe I have a fairly good chance of getting admitted at ISB as well, since I was waitlisted 2 years ago with a much weaker profile.
I have a few concerns which I would like to get your view on.
My background:
1. Indian National
2. Civil Engineer (IIT Bombay. India)
3. 6 years of experience in energy (oil and gas, little bit of renewables)
As per my knowledge -
Cambridge:
1. Has Good global reputation
2. Has Better diversity
3. Did an internship in the UK during undergrad, hence, familiar with the geography
4. Uncertainty in career outcomes as Indians face difficulty in getting placed when compared to EU/UK/US students.
5. Uncertainty in career outcomes due to current economic conditions. This is a big factor for me as I'd ideally like to be in a position where I could comfortably repay my education loan within 2-3 years of MBA
6. Weaker in India when compared to ISB. especially due to a smaller and sparse alumni network
7. Not entirely sure how Judge business school is viewed by recruiters. Heard Oxbridge often plays second fiddle to LBS
ISB:
1. Very safe choice, good ROI.
2. Serves jobs on a platter
3. Extremely strong alumni network in india
4. Not globally recognised.
5. Lacks diversity
6. No need to take a loan
7. Decent no. of alumni are placed abroad as well, however, international career outcomes are no match for Cambridge
8. Course is not really an MBA. This is not an issue in India, however, I'm not sure if it might make access to international opportunities difficult
My personal goals/preferences:
1. Planning to switch to a business strategy role. Plan B would be consulting (preferably in energy, but I'm flexible)
2. No preference for the short term location, however, in the long term, I'm leaning towards settling in India
3. Don't want to face too much of a financial strain. Either would be fine in this case, however, I'm not able to gauge how much uncertainty Indian students are facing in landing a job after CJBS MBA within UK/Abroad
4. Global experience would be a 'nice to have'. It might open opportunities which I'm not yet aware of

rilekez5, you seem to have covered the key differences between the two programs, in your analysis.
The choice would depend on your risk tolerance, timeframe (short/ long-term) you are basing the decision on, and financial situation. If you are open to more risk (predominantly uncertainty in the relevant job market) and are inclined to the global experience Cambridge can offer, it's a good choice.
Given your preference to settle in India long term, and your desire to avoid financial strain, ISB is the safer bet. It is also a strong brand in India and provides diverse career paths post-MBA. Albeit predominantly in India, alum network is also spread across Asia, UK, etc. Tapping into the network could open up opportunities outside India. The easier way would be to relocate to a different geography within the same company (MNC) if that's of interest.
I would suggest looking at alum profiles of both schools (LinkedIn is a great tool) to identify ideally someone who transitioned from a similar pre-MBA role to your target roles. Conversations with such alum can unlock insights on career paths and experiences, which can further guide your decision.

Congratulations on the offer from Cambridge.
Given your preferences in terms of avoiding financial strain, reducing job uncertainties, and settling down in India (eventually), ISB seems to be a winner. The good news is that you cannot go wrong with your choice no matter what you decide. Both programs are highly reputed in their respective areas; so, it eventually boils down to what makes you comfortable.
