Hi all. I am currently undergrad student. My GPA is good enough for any business school. I'm interested in finance Ph.D. in USA. A friend of mine, who is doing his doctorate in Europe, suggested me that two main criteria are GPA and GMAT score. So basically, motivation and recommendation letters do not play great role. How true do you think is that?

motivation and recommendation letters are important to the overall profile ..

Motivation letters and letters of recommendation are extremely important.

All the best!
