EMBA INSEAD vs HEC Paris

Hello all,

I am applying to HEC Paris in Doha, Qatar and INSEAD in Abu Dhabi. I am living and working in Doha and I was wondering if I were lucky enough to get accepted at both , which would be a better option, given the following:

1) Canadian Expat working in Qatar so commute will be better at HEC
2) HEC is Cheaper
3) INSEAD is ranked much higher on the FT rankings
4) Would like to work in Europe or back in North America after the GCC
5) Currently working Satellite Sector with my background in Strategy & Finance

Thanks in advance for the feedback and would love to hear from you guys based on the above info,

I would say INSEAD would be the direction I would go and it would give you the most flexibility globally depending on where you decide to settle

I would have to agree with the comment above. I realize HEC might be cheaper and closer for right now, but believe me you are going to want INSEAD on your resume long-term. HEC is a wonderful school, but truly a lot less well-known outside of the french-speaking community. But by all means I would apply to both. Are you going for Jan or September?

HEC is a great option if you plan to work in French speaking countries (France, Belgium, French parts of Canada etc.) as it is the most prestigious school in those areas by far, but in other parts of Europe and North America INSEAD is better known.

That said, both schools are great, so you can’t really go wrong with either but keep in mind that you are kind of (not completely of course) limiting yourself to the French speaking world with HEC.
