Hi,
I am posting this in the Math forum as this is the area which I need to work on the most!
I've been on the forums over the last few weeks as I am in the middle of preparing for my GMAT and aiming to take it in December at some point. My aim is to apply for the January deadlines so I also have to consider time for my essays.
Anyway, I seem to have plateaued in math. Taking the Kaplan tests I average 70% - 80% and consistently get questions wrong due to carelessness. The good sign is that when I look at the explanations for questions I got wrong, I understand them. However, that does not always mean I get it right next time - I often forget certain rules (especially with powers and roots).
I have gone through the Kaplan Premier book and the Kaplan question bank. Next step is to go through all the math questions on here that can be bought and the quizz banks on MGMAT. Throw in some full CATs along the way before finishing up with the official guide.
Any advice regarding the below:
1. My study plan
2. How to get past the careless errors
3. Will doing a lot of hard questions elevate my math level?
4. Any advice on how to remember certain rules such as powers and roots.

FYI - I have taken a full length test, scoring 650 - that was about 2 or 3 weeks ago and plan on doing another tomorrow. I basically have 4-5 weeks of study left and want to get over 700.

Hello VIG, looking at your post i think its safe to assume that you know all the formulas and rules. I think all you need is some good practice time. Use error logs and practice a lot. and before u start a practice session go through the formulas that trouble you. And then practice at a stretch. Think this will help you. .
