If m and n are both positive, is mn < 10?

(1) m < 2
(2) n < 5

Question: Is mn < 100?

IMPORTANT: Always pay attention to terms defined in question such as POSITIVE in this case

Statement 1: m < 2

no information about n hence

NOT SUFFICIENT

Statement 2: n < 5

no information about m hence

NOT SUFFICIENT

Combining the statetements

m < 2 and n < 5

i.e. m*n < 2*5
i.e. m*n < 10

SUFFICIENT

Answer: Option C
