Here we need to find if the slope of line z is positive nor not.

Statement 1 states that line m is perpendicular to line z, and its slope is −1/4.
Now for perpendicular lines m1∗m2=−1 or m1*(-1/4)=-1, ie m1 or slope of line z is positive.
Hence Sufficient.
Keep AD. Cancel BCE.

Statement 2 states that line z’s y-intercept is positive. And nothing is mentioned about slope which may have +ve or -ve slope.
Hence Not sufficient.
Cancel D.

Right Answer Is Option A
