When will \(\frac{25}{a + 1}\) be an integer?
when a+1 is a factor of 25.
(1) \(a\) is a multiple of 25
It is easy to believe a+1 will never be a factor of 25, but what happens when a=0.
0 is a multiple of all numbers.
a=0....\(\frac{25}{a + 1}=\frac{25}{1}=25\)...YES
a=25...\(\frac{25}{a + 1}=\frac{25}{26}\)...NO
(2) \(0 \leq a \leq 25\)
Same cases as in statement I
