Hi

I am a bit stumped with the answer choices. I can find 7/2 but nothing any further. Please help

|3x-6|>9/2

When X>0
3x-6>9/2
3x>21/2
x>7/2........ greater than 7/2 can go as long as +ve infinity( 7/2, +infinity)

when X<0

3x-6<-9/2 ( change sign and flip)
3X<3/2
X<1/2........ anything less1/2 can go as long as - infinity on the number line ..
(-infinity, 1/2)

Hence C

Thanks! Your explanation made it lot easier!

when 3x-6>=0(i.e x>=2) , the given expression becomes

3x-6 > 9/2
=>x>7/2 and is in satisfying x>=2

when 3x-69/2

=>x<1/2 as is satisfying the condition x<2

so overall solution is (-infinity,1/2) U (7/2,infinity)

Answer is C.
