Last year price = P;
This year price = 1.4P;

Lucas used a travel voucher to purchase the vacation package at 30% off this year’s price, thus he paid (1 - 0.3)*1.4P = 0.98P.

Answer: E.

40% increase = 140P/100
30% of on it = \(\frac{140P}{100}*(\frac{100-30}{100})\) =0.98P
