John weighs twice as much as Marcia. Marcia’s weight is 60% of Bob’s weight. Dave weighs 50% of Lee’s weight. Lee weighs 190% of John’s weight. Which of these 5 persons weighs the least?

(A) Bob
(B) Dave
(C) John
(D) Lee
(E) Marcia

Let's plug quick numbers. Bon is my start. Let's Bob's weight = 100

M = 0.6B = 0.6 * 100 = 60

J=2M = 2 * 60 = 120

L=1.9J =1.9 * 120 = 240 (slightly less than 240)

D = 0.5L = 0.5 *240 =120 (slightly less than 120)

From all the above, it is clear that Marcia is the least weight

Answer: E

We have to consider the common link between the various comparisons and that would be weight of John
Let us consider the weight of John be x Weight of John = x
Marcia's weight is half of that of John so value is 0.5x Weight of Marcia = 0.5x
Bob's weight is 0.83x as Marcia's weight is 60% of weight of Bob Weight of Bob = 0.83x
Now we will consider the weight of Lee which is 1.90x Weight of Lee = 1.9x
As Dave weighs 50% of Lee, Dave's weight is 0.95x Weight of Dave = 0.95x

It can be clearly observed that value of weight of Marcia is the least and so the Correct answer - E
