Attached are the latest/current collection of all of the Analysis of an Argument Essay/AWA (Analytical Writing Assessment) Topics administered during the GMAT.
Unlike GMAT Questions, GMAC actually publishes the full list of all possible Essay Questions - in other words - these are the only topics you will be presented with. You are welcome to review them ahead of time and also use this list for practice.

This must be a bit outdated. I took the exam today and the argument topic I got is not in the above list. It was something about a Cable TV network for cooking was thinking of rolling out more channels because the original channel was successful.

I wrote my GMAT on September 11th, 2009 and I had a different topic too. I have been trying to convince myself that I might be confusing what I had. I would really like to know if there are topics outside that list.

If you want us to follow up with the GMAC, you need to be a little more specific here.
I responded to the above person (mendelay) and found one of the topics he claimed was missing (or what I am assuming is the topic).
There is no point in going to the GMAC on a wild goose chase saying "hey we think the list is incomplete", without actually having some substance of the list being incomplete.

Thanks for the detailed list of topics. I downloaded this. But was confused when I heard that the list is incomplete. What was the resolution? is it or not incomplete?

I sat for the GMAT last Wednesday and both my Analysis of an Issue and Argument are listed. The post in this forum helped out a lot. Scored a 4.5/6 in just 3 weeks of studying. Thanks everyone!!!

Just out of my curiosity, is there any model essay responding to some of the questions in the list? If so, we can compare our essays with and learn from the model essays.

For those who is interested.
I took my exam yesterday 15th of March 2010 I hope i am not breaching any laws by posting the AWA questions that i encountered. It was fairly easy.
The Issue Question was about: People with experience make the best leaders.
And the Argument - Company X's revenue was higher last year compared to this year. Company X has outsourced it departments to different regions of the country since last year. Therefore, if the company wants to improve it's profit it has to centralize its department in order to reduce costs and control its employees better.
