1. The statement has a reporting form and so the use of 'that' after 'makes clear' is necessary.

2. Nubians is clearly mentioned to be a site and so, to refer to the people of that site, we must use 'the Nubians'.

3. Artistic elements of Egypt are compared to Artistic elements of sub-Saharan Africa and not any specific element and so we must use 'those' to refer to the plural (elements).

From (1), we can eliminate (A) & (C)

From (2), we can eliminate (E)

From (3), we can eliminate (B) [(A) & (C) contain this error as well]

IMO Answer is (D)

To start off, you cannot say "combine A to B", it is the wrong usage of the word combine so it has to be "combine A with B".
Therefore, options A and B are out.
If you look at option E, here also, the word "combine" is being used with "and" so for this reason, you can strike off option E.

Next, if you check the prompt, we are combining "elements", the plural form, so we cannot use "that". the singular form. Hence we have to use "those" with "elements".
Therefore, option C is out.

Now, you are left with option D, which has all the correct ingredients, and hence the correct choice.

so A, B, and E are out
