Can someone correct me? Isn't the second clause after the semi colon in (A) NOT an independent clause? Isn't an independent clause required for a semi colon?
Though i agree that "the more the...the longer the.." is an idiom . But as per grammar doesnt a semi colon demand an independant clause?? "the more the...the longer the.." is an idiom and not an independant clause .Plz comment

Raising this topic as well. Agree that A is correct in terms of Idiom, but don't we need a verb for the independent clause after the semicolon?
