Whenever we construct a sentence with an introductory modifying phrase containing a pronoun, the pronoun must refer to the subject of the main clause placed immediately after the modifier. As per that norm, I think the pronoun does refer to Technotip because it will be a far-fetched fancy to consider the distantly - placed acquisition as the referent for 'its'. However, logically it looks more plausible that 'its' financial impact refers to the acquisition's impact. Probably it would have been better to have dropped the pronoun altogether. I think it is best to ask the author directly, as hearing straight from the horse's mouth may help one to take a call swiftly.
