I am not able to understand why the answer is A and not C. A has a comparison error- ellipses - it's numbers are now five times greater (Present tense) than when the use of DDT was sharply restricted in the early 1970 (Past).
In this case don't we need to have to use the ellipses such they were or it was ?

Hi, the biggest reason to eliminate C is that "Their" is used to refer to plural nouns. However, "Gyrphalcon" (the noun "their" is referring to) is a singular noun.

Then in that case E would still be more appropriate considering the ellipses.please help me with a reason to reject E.
