Unable to understand the logic behind, pls help

Hi,
A. As the honeybee’s stinger is heavily barbed, staying where it is inserted, this results in the act of stinging causing
-Problem here is "this". "This" is a pronoun and cannot refer to an entire phrase. Hence, A is out.
B. As the heavily barbed stinger of the honeybee stays where it is inserted, with the result that the act of stinging causes
- This sentence has no IC. Try separating the parts of the sentence before and after the comma and none will be able to stand on its own.
C. The honeybee’s stinger, heavily barbed and staying where it is inserted, results in the fact that the act of stinging causes
-This sentence is saying honeybee's stinger results in the fact........, making this construction illogical. It is not honeybee's stinger that is resulting in something. Rather the fact that the stinger is barbed and stays where it is inserted cause the bee to sustain fatal injury.
D. The heavily barbed stinger of the honeybee stays where it is inserted, and results in the act of stinging causing
-Same issue as C.
E. The honeybee’s stinger is heavily barbed and stays where it is inserted, with the result that the act of stinging causes
- This is correct as it says that the stinger is barbed and stays in its place>>>>> leading to the stinging causing fatal injury
