B. Since 1990 the growth of global economy has been more than  that   during 10000 years, from when agriculture began  "Than what was during..." sounds better  
C. The growth of the global economy since 1990 exceeds  that which had been  for 10000 years from the beginning of agriculture.
D. The growth of the global economy since 1990 exceeds what  it has been for 10000 years , from when agriculture began  Inappropriate use of present perfect tense 
E. The  growth of the global economy  since 1990 exceeds what  it did  for the 10000 years from the beginning of agriculture.  Poor Comparison

A looks to be best one!!

The comparison is between growth of global economy since 1990 & global economy in 10000 years.
D & E wrongly compares growth with the global economy since 10000 years.
"that which" in C and "from when" in B is not a proper usage.
Only A is the option left.

EVen I have the same confusion.
I went with D but now after reading again I think ist A. But still cannot decide why D is wrong.
