hopeful101candidate,

Yes, quite a few Goizueta grads in fact end up working in Deloitte's Atlanta office. Some of them also work for the Strategy & Operations practice too for Deloitte in Atlanta. This role, location, and firm can be targetted through the Goizueta MBA. Exact numbers difficult to specify, as they are not separately reported by practice.

As an aside, do also keep in mind that the S&O placements might be more opportunistic/need-driven than roles in other practices (more regular recruitment), so recruitment from one year to the other could vary just because of that.

Thanks again, GyanOne! I have one more question for you regarding consulting in general. I've done some basic research on numerous consultants' LinkedIn profiles and noticed that a large number of them have a background in engineering/technology. How important do you think is it to have this background to have a successful career in consulting? I understand that IT consultants would definitely need this background to be successful in their field, but what about general strategy management consultants? Do you feel that not having a tech/engineering background is a disadvantage?

hopeful101candidate,

Not really. It will really come down to the mix of skills and experience that you can present at the time of hiring. Engg/tech candidates do have strong numerical analysis and problem-solving skills, but there are always other ways to demonstrate that, for example through the projects you have done at work and of course through the case interview rounds you will have. Here's where your CFA L2 also gives you a bit of a spike. The activities you are involved in during the MBA program, as well as any internships you do will also play a role. You will therefore not be at any inherent disadvantage going into the placements/recruiting process without a tech background.

Hi,
Do consulting companies (apart from MBB) such as Big-four look at GMAT score during the recruitment process?
