Dear Club members and expert consultants,
I have a question regarding my resume:
I immigrated to the States a little over two years ago and been working very hard to apply to top business schools. My GMAT score compared with my applicant pool is the highest, and work experience back in my country, Afghanistan, is noteworthy. However, getting a good job in the States, especially in New York city, with no professional network in place to build a good work experience is almost impossible.
That is why the jobs I have had are all survival jobs. My question is that should I list my work experience, including the ones in the states chronologically from present to the past, on top of my resume or categorize the states experience, in another section, Additional Work Experience, below my main work experience in AFG?
I really appreciate advice.

Heseraj if you would like to deemphasize these jobs, yes, that is a good idea. However make sure you are not missing any opportunities. Even a menial job can add to the application if you demonstrated teamwork, leadership and problem solving in said job.
Given that you have had a tough time with jobs the past two years, I hope you will be OK with the letters of recommendation? Try to choose someone you worked with just before moving here - but also, someone who is a champion for you and willing to work openly with you. Don't just send the link and hope for the best. Strong, strategically thought out letters could really legitimize your candidacy, and support your ability to contribute at a higher level.
