Hi, For some reason, my earlier reply did not get posted. Anyway, so, Schulich does accept deferral requests on a case by case basis.
I recall last year, due to covid, Schulich gave the deferral option to every single incoming student till 15 days before the start of the program. I deferred my offer last year and the team at Schulich was pretty supportive and understanding. Reach out to the admissions team with the reason for the deferral and they will definitely accept your request and extend the offer to a waitlisted candidate ( they always have lots of waitlisted candidates for their programs ).
Also, you would have to pay the deposit to secure your spot even if you have plans to defer your start. In addition, you would be required to pay another 3000 cad deposit, few months before starting your MBA journey in January.
Both deposits will be credited to your Term 1 Tuition.
Please feel free to reach out to me in case you have any additional questions.

Hi,
this may not be the correct thread to ask this, but I got an acceptance letter from Schulich for Sept 2021 intake (India + Canada program), but now I am oblivious about funding a total of $106,640 in academic fees.
Could you please provide any suggestion on this so that I do not have to defer my admission just to figure out funding?
Also, is $106,640 worth it for Schulich?
Thanks

Hi Abhinav,

Congratulations on your admit!

In my opinion, I do not think it would be right to get a deferral because of this reason. There are several loan options available for Schulich India students with many Indian Banks such as SBI, BoB etc and private companies such as Auxilo and Avanse, which offer collateral free loans upto a limit of 35-40 Lakhs for Canadian schools. Maybe, you should start exploring those options.
Just to add on, as an incoming MBA India student at Schulich, you would be receiving an entrance funding of 10,000 Canadian dollars for year 1 that should also help a little with your financial planning.

As for whether Schulich is worth it or not - that depends on where you are in your career journey at present and how you think an MBA will add value to your profile.

Rest assured that Schulich is one of the top business schools in Canada. I'd advise you to check the profiles of Schulich Alumni over linkedin to get an idea.

Hope this helps.

Hi, Does the 10,000 dollar funding for year 1 apply for all students ? or it is merit-based ? I myself am skeptical as to how I'll be able to fund my MBA from Schulich. It costs around 70 lakhs INR overall doesn't it ?

Hi Mani,
Thanks once again for your response.
Yeah, I have started reaching out to folks over LinkedIn.
I will also check with the aforementioned banks and institutions for securing collateral-free loans.

Regards,
Abhinav
