1) X=\sqrt{3} Therefore X is aprox 1,73 Not sufficient considering that we do not know anything about y.

2) Y is a prime number, therefore y>=2 but X is unknown in this case so; Not sufficient.

Combined we got X= 1,73 ( APROX) , Y >= 2, So we got the answer; NO . 
Is C for me.

Prime = 2,3....so on lowest prime is 2
 the square root of 3 is less that 2

with both together u can answer this

but alone NO
