Given three different integers, does the exponential quantity (a − b)^c exceed zero?

(1) b < a
(2) c = 2a

Hi,
A good question which requires us to pay proper attention to the nuber properties...

the important points from the Q.. 
1) all three integers are different.
2)(a-b)^c> 0 means..
 ...(i) a-b should be positive, OR
 ...(ii) c should be even

lets see the statements now..
(1) b < a
 this makes a-b positive, so irrespective what c is, (a-b)^c will always be positive..

(2) c = 2a
from this c is even number..
 irrespective of "a-b" as positive or negative OR "a" be negative such that "c" too becomes negative, (a-b)^c will always be positive..

Given (a-b)^c , a b & c are 3 different integers

Out of which

from 1) we know that a>b, we can plug in any value -1>-2 , or 2>1 
we will always get values which will exceed 0

from 2) c = 2 a , this means c will be always even, this will always give us a positive value 
a = 1, c = 2 
we will always get values which will exceed 0
