What is the area of the triangle above?
(1) a = x, b = 2x, and c = 3x.

What is the area of the triangle above?
(1) a = x, b = 2x, and c = 3x.
We also know that sum of a,b,c is 180. Hence the angles are 30,60 and 90.
But we can't clearly tell what the sides will be. Hence insufficient.
(2) The side opposite a is 4 and the side opposite b is 3.
The area of triangle cannot be determined because
we cant clearly say if the side opposite to b is the height of the triangles.
Hence, insufficient.
However, on combining the statements, we can clearly say that the side opposite to b is the height.
Hence, sufficient.(Option C)

(1) gives us the ratio of angles but not the length of any side hence not sufficient..it tells that triangle is right angled at c
(2) This gives us two sides but not sufficient to identify area
combining bothwe can identify the area
