(1) The given quadrilateral is a square.
(2) The given quadrilateral has a perimeter of 16.

Question : What is the area of quadrilateral ABCD?
For area of the triangle we need to know the type of quadrilateral it is and also the dimensions of the sides
Statement 1: The given quadrilateral is a square
It gives us all properties but the length of any dimension (Side or Diagonal) is unknown hence
NOT SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: The given quadrilateral has a perimeter of 16.
This doesn't tell us any property of the quadrilateral which can make it a rectangle/parallelogram/square with same perimeter but rendering different results for area of the quadrilateral hence
NOT SUFFICIENT
Combining the Statement
We know it's Square with perimeter 16 i.e. side 4 therefore area of the quadrilateral = 4^2 = 16
SUFFICIENT
Answer: option C
