To find:
- • Whether S < T
Analysing Statement 1
As per the information given in statement 1, \(R = \frac{T}{2}\)
- • We don’t have any relevant information about S.
Hence, statement 1 is not sufficient.
Analysing Statement 2
As per the information given in statement 2, \(S = \frac{R}{2}\)
- • We don’t have any relevant information about T.
Hence, statement 2 is not sufficient.
Combining Both Statements
We know \(R = \frac{T}{2}\) and \(S = \frac{R}{2}\).
Hence, we can say \(S = \frac{T}{4}\), or, \(T = 4S\).
- • Now, if both S and T are positive integers, then T > S.
• Whereas if both S and T are negative integers, then T < S.
As we can see, we can have multiple possibilities.
Hence, the correct answer is option E.
