Question: Which of the integers m or n is greater?
Statement 1: n = 2m
m = 1, n = 2 i.e .n > m
m = -1, n = -2 i.e .n < m
NOT SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: 2m + 5n = 12
The integer solutions (m, n) of the above equation may be
(1, 2) i.e. m < n
(6, 0) i.e. m > n
(11, -2)
NOT SUFFICIENT
COmbining the statements
2m + 5n = 12 and n = 2m
2m + 5*(2m) = 12
i.e. 12m = 12
i.e. m = 1 and n = 2
i.e. m < n
SUFFICIENT
Answer: Option C
