Question: Is p = q?
Statement 1: p + q = pq
i.e. pq - p - q = 0
Adding +1 to both sides of the equation
i.e. pq - p - q +1 = 1
i.e. (p-1)*(q-1) = 1
i.e. p = 2 and q = 2
hence p = q
SUFFICIENT
STatement 2: pq = 4
i.e. p = q = 2 or
p = 1 and q = 4 hence
NOT SUFFICIENT
ANswer: Option A
