A rectangular field is 3.2 yards long. What is the area of the field in square yards?

Question: Area of Rectangular Field = l*b = ?
Statement 1: Fence = 2(l+b) = 11.2
l = 3.2 yds (Given)
i.e. b = 2.4
SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: \(l^2+b^2 = 4^2\)
l = 3.2 yds (Given)
i.e. b = 2.4
SUFFICIENT
ANswer: Option C

(1) A fence marking the boundary is 11.2 yards in length.
2(l+b)=11.2 and l=3.2
b=2.4
Clearly sufficient
(2) The distance between the diagonally opposite corners of the rectangular field is 4 yards.
l^2+b^2 =16 and l= 3.2
=> b=2.4
Clearly sufficient
Therefore IMO D
