Question: Is a < b ?
Statement 1: |a – b| = b – a
i.e. b-a is non-negative and b ≥ a
since b may be equal to (NO) or greater than a (YES) hence
NOT SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: a/b < 1
i.e. a and b are NOT equal
also, we can't find comparison between a and b because either one of them may be positive and other negative hence
NOT SUFFICIENT
COmbining the statements
Statement 1 gives us b ≥ a
Statement 2 gives us b ≠ a
i.e. we may conclude that b > a
SUFFICIENT
Answer: Option C
