Given: 4,095<x<4,105
Question: WHat is x?
Statement 1: When x is divided by 2 or by 3, the remainder is 1.
i.e. x when divided by 6 leaves remainder 1
the multiple of 6 in range 4,095<x<4,105 are 4098 and 4104
i.e x may be 4099 or 4105 but since x can NOT be 4105 as the number is out of the range hence
x = 4099
SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: x is a prime number
prime numbers in range 4,095<x<4,105 is 4099 hence
x = 4099
SUFFICIENT
Answer: Option D

I am aware of the 6k(+-)1 rule to find whether a number is prime or not but this doesn't always work for eg- 25 i.e. 6x4+1 is not a prime number and 23 i.e. 6x4-1 is a prime number. So I believe we cannot always rely on this rule, so, is there any other way to find whether a number is prime or not?
