If x and y are prime numbers, what is the number of the different factors of x^4*y^3?

(2) x and y are different

CONCEPT: If \(N = a^p*b^q*c^r...\)
where a, b, c... are distinct primes
Number of factors of \(N = (p+1)*(q+1)*(r+1)*...\)
where a, b, c... are distinct primes
Number of factors of \(N = (p+1)*(q+1)*(r+1)*...\)
In the given question teh only problem is that we do NOT know whether x and y ae distinct prime o not?
Question REPHRASED: Is x = y?
Statement 1: xy = 15
since x and y are prime number therefore thy must be different
i.e. (x,y) is (3, 5) or (5,3) in either case, the numbe of factors of x^4*y^3 = (4+1)*(3+1) = 20 hence
SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: x and y are different
SUFFICIENT
Answer: Option D
